During the course of my busy schedule there is always the need to fuel my 6ft frame with some energy to keep me going, I am always that guy walking round from table to table asking if anyone has anything else to snack on, this way I ended up putting a lot of junk food into my body which really isn’t a healthy thing to do.
So I asked our beloved Google to suggest some healthy snacking options, apparently the healthier you are the longer you live, we really should all try and incorporate some healthy habits into our lifestyles. The earlier you start the better off you will be.
Google suggested a variety of healthy snacks, the obvious being fruits, rice-cakes, nutrition bars and nuts etc. I had always assumed nuts where really fatty and responsible for pimples, which ruined your face! I never considered them as a healthy option.
You know what they say about assumption being the mother of all f**k ups; my assumptions about nuts were totally off the mark.
Firstly there are various kinds of nuts such as:
Pistachios, Cashews, Macadamias, Brazils, Walnuts, Almonds
It turns out going nuts for either of the nuts has a lot a of health benefits as opposed to snacking on digestives, Haribos and other guilty pleasures everyday.
Nuts Are A Rich Source Of Omega-3
Omega-3 helps to keep your heart health by protecting you against irregular heart rhythms that lead to heart attacks. Omega-3 is also responsible cholesterol lowering and disease prevention.
Rich In Fiber
Nuts are rich in fiber, fiber is the stuff your body needs to regulate all the actions that go on in our bowels and intestine, having a regular intake of fiber reduces the risk of cancer as well as other stomach diseases.
Nuts are rich in Vitamin E, the said Vitamin is responsible for seeking out and neutralising dangerous chemicals, in other to prevent damage to the body tissues and red blood cells, it also helps to keep our skin and immune system healthy and free from attacks.
